It is optimism like that that has kept the Mariners funding a sub .500 team for 45 years now. The least successful pro team on the planet.The good news is they got 14 in a row. They now know what it is like to win. They needed to build up a buffer because they knew right after the Allstar break they would be playing the two best teams in the league. After those series the teams they play are all below 500 (I believe).
