Wet one out there today. Wind was better then forecast.
Stayed local as I had stuff to do and caught a few snaky MA 10 cutts. They need to start inhaling some protein.
Only one fish pic today. A eagle was watching intently as the cutts were flopping around. Ran into a immature eagle feasting on a ling cod carcass further down the beach. It wasn’t to happy I interrupted its meal.
Ran down the beach on glass and litter patrol after fishing. Overall a nice day to be out.

Awesome job dude! Teaching my little boys to be good stewards as we fish as well!

Walked to the beach the last 3 times now to have wind whipping so hard you’d think there would be some clue inland. The first 60ft of water each time a mud bath, infuriating.

Dear [Fishing] God, I’ve been good. Keep the mud on the bottom, all I ask.

Setting alarm early trying the morning high tide exit.

EDIT: 16mph wind already on the inlet at 5am. Back to bed for 30minutes dang.

Just a heads,up for those, who fish around Point Defiance:

KING5.com: Road permanently closing to motorized vehicles in Tacoma's Point Defiance Park.

That closure won’t affect anyone’s fishing unless they bring a really long rope or a parachute…. ;)

North facing beaches will be your friend. The S, SE or SW wind can be a real bitch down there.

Headed out early to beat the Revive I-5 traffic. No problems getting through but traffic both directions coming home was seriously boned. Lots of $5 per gallon gas getting used up just sitting.
No need to use a surface fly to tell you fish were present. Lots of targets showing themselves, especially right off the bat.
Many smaller fish but it’s good to see lots of the smaller size class fish. I don’t think I cracked the 12-13” mark today.
A silver Goldie did most of the damage.
Decent exchange in feet on the tide but way too much time between the high and the low so not much movement all day.
Did not see any fry today.
Nice day on the water, just too sunny and calm for my liking.

South Sound was incredibly calm today too with no big fish. But that sun just made things so nice. I found a washed up livingston w/ decent damage and duct taped makeshift drain plugs, someone had a rough time.

Also figured out a place where the cutties hold at high tide, just had to turn around and go in the nook. Casting to them in between a bulkhead and dock, hooked into them cast after cast, no residents.

Schools of fry everywhere, and also saw a couple schools of juvenile somethings probably 4 inchers.

Dogs happy. Homemade stripping basket mock-up was a success @ $5, now to be hot glued.

If you have a old bungee cord, that will work well for holding your basket.
Easy on and off.

@ThatGuyRyRy and I went out Lingcod fishing on his boat yesterday. He got three and I got my first lingcod ever on the fly.

Overall great day to fish and looking forward to doing it again sometime in the future.

Thanks, Ryan.

Stayed local today. Decent day with some fish to hand. No great size wise. Tan over white produced the best.
These MA 10 fish need to get on the south sound diet.

Glad I started at 5:00 because it got really busy later in the morning. Probably should have let earlier.
Rant(s) of the day coming from a dog lover and owner of a number of dogs over my lifetime.
1. Don’t throw sticks over the top of someone’s fishing line while they are fishing unless you like to hear some unpleasantries. ;)
2. If people take the time to pick up their dogs shit, don’t then toss the bag into the corner of the porta potty and expect the park employees or service company to deal with it.
Four bags of shit lying on the floor. Take it home and dispose of it properly or toss it in a park garbage can.
