Might as well have one of these threads over here.

Cool pic! Are black brant around throughout the winter or just certain times? Most but not all winter in Mexico.
Seems like they show up from January into late March around here.

Not much to look at over there, is there. Beautiful shots from a beautiful area.

Brant are so cool - they have been known to make nonstop transoceanic flights from Alaska to the West Coast and even Mexico. They nest in the Yukon/Kuskokwim Delta so I'm guessing they're slowly working their way north.

Fishing sucked ass today. You’d think with nearly a 15’ exchange on the afternoon outgoing that the water would move, but it didn’t. Saw maybe six fish rise. None wanted to play.
Way too nice and zero wind resulted in mirror flat water.

Got delayed on my way home by two pretty serious accidents. One just east of Minter Creek and the other on the westbound exit off to Purdy almost in front on Pearls. Lots of cops, fire and aid.

Anyone missing a glove, maybe three or a binky? ;)

Whenever we're out there (Washington) on vacation, we stop there at some point and usually grab some ice cream and/or bakery items. Last time, we stopped at the cidery right outside of town on the way to Pt. Townsend (my wife loved the cider, and I had an IPA from a nearby brewery that was great!).

I agree @Stonedfish…super disappointing day. Pepe Le Pew for me. I hit four west side, north sound, winter honey holes and saw one fish jump. Cast to it and hooked up but lost it after a few seconds. I didn’t sniff another fish all day. It wasn’t all bad though. Been looking awhile for the right piece of driftwood to turn into a fly tying tool caddy. I think I found that today. The other great thing about winter SRC fishing is even on days like today, I leave the beach content. Outside of a few dog walkers, every beach I fished I was by myself. Such a different vibe than leaving an ass to elbow beach after a skunking during coho season. Ended the day, parked on a log, enjoying this view and listening to two eagles have a chat about something. Probably how shitty the fishing was!

Yesterday’s reports are crushing my motivation for fishing today
edit: just wanted to get on board

Today looks a bit ugly anyway.
Southerly gusts forecast in the 40 mph range where I planned to fish today.
Good day to watch football, tie flies and drink some beer…..
