There are definitely situations which call for more than pepper spray, but I think the tone of the responses on this thread is spot on.

Etiquette in general is a thing of the past and common courtesy requires common sense. I haven’t run into an issue on the water in a long time and I think that attitude is the biggest reason why. I also don’t fish particularly popular/accessible spots. Also might just be because I don’t steelhead?

OPST makes the exact same pack as the old Simms roll top and it is one of the more reasonable waterproof packs out there. I blew the seams on the same Simms pack and after inquiring with them about their warrantee I am no longer a customer.

Thanks for alil the responses. I am open to almost any type of fish/location with a couple of caveats; 1. No Spey casting. 2. Alaska Air, if flying. 3. If driving, has to be within 5 hours (my car had some issues this summer whenever the day of driving hit 6+ hours).
