Love my 2020 4runner, 3yrs old and she has over 60K now and majority of it is from fishing and road trips since I've been working from home since covid. She gets almost 17 smiles per gallon :)
I've done some mods on her, slight lift, skid plate, CAT cover plates, running boards, LED main and amber fogs. Latest additional is a platform to go in the back to get a flat sleeping area.

Wishing I was fishing the Sauk
When I really got back into Fly fishing after my skiing career in 96/97 I had a old 1980's Subaru XT with no suspension, had a single windshield whipper that didnt work leaked oil like it owned stock in BP.
Many days running around the Sauk and Skagit not being able to see the road, as well as the drive back home in Gold Bar, but damn thers was fish around.
Then a 2000 Chevy Blazer, towed a drift boat for the first time rented from James Dean rentals at AATF, @Bhudda now onwns it, pretty shure I put the first dents in it LOL!

Then I had a 1998 Chevy Suburban, the best fishing vehicle I've ever owned. Yes it broke down on me two or three times, but that thing would go anywhere with that longer wheel base. I would drive down to launch at the native hole on the Sauk without issues, could drive into Mahoney’s. I feared no boat launch and could sleep in comfort, it was a rolling fly shop back when I was guiding and got about 18MPG even towing a DB.

Then another Subaru, but this time an Outback and towed my DB just fine. but needed truck so picked up a 2000ish Chevy Silverado with a canopy and added some camping additions, but nature decided it wasn't the vehicle for me!

Now I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado Exyra Cab Long bed, just waiting to get a High top canopy to make my owne Casa Cruiser ala @iveofione

2017 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel. It's comfortable, fuel efficient, can easily tow any boat in our fleet and our grandson learned how to drive in it.

I'm also in a Ram 1500 Ecodiesel. Super comfy and 28-30mpg on my almost weekly drive between Maple Valley and Beaver. With the 33 gallon tank, range is awesome unlike my previous Gladiator Mohave which would go anywhere but was NOT comfy on long drive, got shitty mileage and had a small gas tank. Looked cool though!

+1 to the EcoDiesel as @RRSmith and @Thomas Mitchell have. My 2015 has been fully deleted since 25k miles, sits with 160k now and no issues.

I really love this truck, still on my factory front brake pads hoping that’s a testament to other parts ha. Canopy and short bed make for a highly maneuverable, camp-able trail rig that is hard to beat. 27mpg highway on 35s.

Hope to get many more years from it.

2017 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Diesel LTZ. Almost 69,000 on it now. Had a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500, but was sucking too much gas pulling our 26 foot travel trailer. If I keep my foot out of it, I can get almost 24 on the Highway without the trailer and 16th or so towing. Only problem is that it is black and a bell of a job to keep nice and free of scratches.

2017 Tundra. Bought it to tow a travel trailer I no longer own. More truck than needed for runs to the dump and Home Depot or even to tow my boat. I’ve sat in it so many times in Puget Sound soaked waders that the interior smells like the ass end of an Elephant seal that just gorged on Taco Bell. Gets 15-16 MPG.

But……I’ll probably keep it until one of us shits the bed. Why get rid of a dependable beauty like this.
