Liking that a lot…SLS Softhackle (variation)
Another one from Blue Ribbon Flies; stands for Slough, Lamar, Soda Butte but could just as easily be Simple Little Softhackle. Subbed dyed pheasant for the woodduck tail since it went better with the tannish orange dubbing/thread color palate.
hook - WFC Model 3 #14
thread - Danville 6/0 orange
tail - pheasant rump dyed golden olive (2 Tsp Rit Golden Yellow, 1/4 Tsp Rit Camel/2 cups water)
abdomen - tying thread
thorax - SLS Zelon dubbing
shoulder - partridge dyed golden olive

Scott
Looks like a Hex!
Cemented to some nice weighted hooks and I think you really got something. Should also work for pike on a gear rod.Came back from the pet store and just realized that I have all that I need for my next trip up to Alaska to fish for those big rainbows
