An interview with originally progressive rock-jazz (took lessons from Bill Frisell) now country-rockabilly-r&r guitarist Kenny Vaughn showed up in my YT feed. He's been in (former prodigy) Marty Stuart's band, "The *Fabulous* Superlatives" since 2002. Kenny mentioned a date they had on the Letterman show where where apparently while they were setting up for the soundcheck one of the house band's guitarists kind of mockingly did a "yeehaw!" and remarked to them "You guys don't have any pedals".
After the soundcheck the house guitarists apparently came up and asked them about how they got that sound out of their guitars and amps.

They look like they are having a blast! And they didn't need any pedals.

I hadn't heard much about Marty Stuart so I did a little looking... check out 14 year old Marty Stuart on mandolin (*Dueling Banjos instrumental, 3:14-4:53, especially @ 4:24!)

2020 Classical Woman of The Year, Valerie Coleman of the outstanding Imani Winds made history with this piece as the first classical work by a living African American woman to be performed.

An adaptation of Piazzolla's Libertango. You don't normally relate a chamber wind ensemble with musical drama but there it is.

I see the genius in Billy. I just struggle with the bluegrass sound some and with the lack of drums. I would love to see him play with a band with drums.
Check out Billy and The Kids , featuring Billy Strings on you tube.
I forgot to add the Billy Strings part. Billy does rock n roll on occasion.
