So, traveled with my Dad and wife to our kids house in Dallas/Ft. Worth to visit the granddaughters ... oh and watch the Total Eclipse!

This was amazing!!!! As the eclipse was progressing the temperature dropped dramatically, and it got really dark. And really quite, I think everybody in the area stopped driving.

Here in Salem it was disappointingly cloudy. I had hoped to photograph the 23% occlusion to share on PNWF, but no go so I set up a detailed simulation and photographed that to memorialize the event. No thanks is expected.

I was in Northern VT. Spectacular event! Traffic was beyond awful to get back home to NH. Poor planning on my part, so for next New England Eclipse in May of 2079 I will have thought out better logistics.

I heard it was over two hours to drive the 3-4 miles from Sugarloaf down the access road just to get the highway, then another 2 hours to get the closest town 20 miles away.IMG_7732.jpeg

Yeah I remember traffic out here being a nightmare in 2017. I think it took us 3-4 hours to get from Corvallis to Portland. Thank god that was pre kid.
