I miss fishing RF.
Sure I can fish for steelhead in winter right here in my neighborhood.
But what I miss is the nice easy walk to the creek, lots of casting room and steelhead size trout to catch.
This N. Umpqua river is a bitch for an ole guy to just get to the river bank in most places.
The places that are easier to get to have lots of other ole guys standing around.
OK that enough of my whining.

I prefer to call them strike indicators.

Good luck, Dave, bring a rain jacket (just in case) and watch out for muskrat holes............

here is my short report:
fished from about 9:00 to 1:30. probably 8 people working the water in various areas.
one rod was a leech pattern and the other was a scud under and indicator.
I had one take down from a small fish - like 9 inches. that was it.
the was windy at times, but I could not buy a strike.
I saw no one else hook up either.
I talked with two guys fished it the day before (it was sunny) and they said they did well - on the small fish.

it was great to get out and I plan to start hitting lakes again.
