Scudley Do Right
Life of the Party
Gonna make my second trip this year. What patterns do you guys have luck with up there. Need some ideas on what to tie.
last week of MayWhen are you going to be there?
If I were planning that trip I’d be covering chironomids, callibaetis, scuds, and leeches. I enjoy the indicator game and I’ve generally found that the patterns I fish locally work in BC lakes as well. Certainly trolling Careys and Boobies can get it done anytime.last week of May
Any specifics I shouldn't be without. If I were planning that trip I’d be covering chironomids, callibaetis, scuds, and leeches. Tied up a handful of those already, probably add a few more.Pumpkinheads are a great pattern
Well, if you see top water action, use a travelling sedge. Fun to catch trout on this fly.Any specifics I shouldn't be without.
Do you tie this in shades of olive and/or brown or is black your go to? Very cool!I usually do well with pumpkinheads and rootbeer body/red-ribbed chironies...but prob my most effective is a dragonfly nymph boobie...either trolled or cast/slow stripped. Here's a pic which explains my process...I usually do a foam strip underbody, which enable me to do smaller eyes...fished on full sink line with 4 - 5' tippet.

Those leeches look like killers! As I’m sure you know, it comes down to the situation day to day. But here’s a few options I like to fish pretty much everywhere, including BC.

be safe to say those flies should work on any trout lake in North AmericaAs I’m sure you know, it comes down to the situation day to day. But here’s a few options I like to fish pretty much everywhere, including BC.
