Carp & Mulberry Flies

Had some good luck with fishing for Carp with Mulberry flies last summer.
Seeing a brown torpedo making a wake to the fly is a hoot.
Forgot to mention-- All fish were caught on a Cortland 444 7 weight bamboo rod

As far as I know, there's a shortage of mulberry trees in my area of the Columbia Basin. I wasn't sure what a "mulberry" looks like until I Googled the fruit (now I get your purple fly). What a cool fishery to be able to get a carp to come eat a mulberry fly!

We have a bunch of them here in WI. The ones that live along the banks of a river or creek and the ones we target.
They fall into the water with a "splat" and that is what we try to match--- no delicate presentation here- "splat it" on the water and the carp will come.
