A swimming frog in a "fire tiger" color scheme
View attachment 15240
View attachment 15241

Hook: TMC 8089 #6
Tail: Orange inside of Chartreuse inside of Yellow grizzly rooster on each side
Back Collar: Yellow and Orange Rooster grizzly hackle
Second collar: Deer hair
Body and diving collar: Yellow, Orange, Black and Chartreuse stacked. Bottom trimmed flat and close to hook, top trimmed to diver shape
Eyes: Frog eyes from Spawnfly
Legs: SRF Fire Tiger Silicone
I really like your deer hair work! That's something I wish I was better at but don't have the concentration to take the time to learn.

That bugger is money.
Have ya tried it with blue flash down the body n tail, instead of pearl?
Also try blue wire and red flash combos. 😉
Thx, I thought so, and so did the fish. I'm just beginning with these really, I'll keep that combo in mind. Got back out after a work/lunch/fly tie break.

I went with something a touch brighter on top of the head on this one. I really liked how much easier it was to see the fly with the more pink head....this should be even easier, especially while sitting down. It sure beats the hell out of all black for visualization. I also stopped adding any flash to these (except for whatever is in the titan dub). It's also only a touch over 7".

Did you just let the wings spray out in both directions rather then sweeping them back? Great tie!
Thanks! It snowshoe hare that I just tied in at the halfway point. I would use a more 'traditional' synthetic, but I thought the hare hair was just about the right size and some added buoyancy. My ties tend to be a little wild and wooly, like bedhead
