Got any bird pics?

Is this a juvenile brown-headed cowbird? The backyard song sparrows got duped into raising two of them. Which I was a little surprised by since since I've never see brown-headed cowbird near my yard.

Yes, that would be my identification. Cowbirds can be VERY sneaky. The high-pitches whistles that male make are quite distinctive but the females are masters at sneaking around.

Found this feather in the street while out on my walk today.
I assume northern flicker. Would that be correct? Beautiful feather regardless.

Left overs from a sharp-shinned or Cooper's hawk would be my guess. I have a Cooper's that takes an occasional rock dove and plucks it in the back of my office.

I am close to puget sound and dont see doves but do see band tails. no tail feathers to suggest it was a bandtail. may have been one of those pigeons that hung out at the corner store.
