Some years the cutthroat are there before the Ospreys, not 2022.

Caspian terns are back. Interesting compare and contrast, both the tern and the osprey eat live fish, though the tern catches with its beak, the osprey with its talons. The wings are way thinner on the Tern

One guy has a starry flounder, the other doesn't. This flounder is dead, they fly dead fish with one foot, live fish with two. Love when they are all hanging out, there were four working a similar flat today, water at least until the tide got way lower was gin clear. Probably why I caught nothing....

This was yesterday here. Had an immature Bald Eagle fly in to meet with two adults. I am guessing this might be the offspring of the pair? Might be a neat meet up after the Winter or two away? (not sure why so blurry on here)

2nd shot down it appears they meld into one. The adult seemed to be sort of peeved at the youngster for the tight fly in and let it know !

That last series of three is killer, looks like Juvie got your number here....About three weeks ago 5 eagles were flying around Green Lake, doing all kinds of pursuits and just acting out. It was fun to watch, two of them were dogfighting at telephone pole height, weaving in and out between the trees. From our porch you were at flight level and could hear the wing whooshes etc

That young bird is a shy bird. An odd color as well..sort of cinnamon in good lighting. Can't decide if it has abit of leucism going on.

Their dogfighting skills are unreal ! I saw the most incredible avian aerial move ever a week or so back. The eagles were interested in the afterbirth of a new calf. Had 6-7 eagles sort of jockeying around and spooking each other off. One eagle came in full-tilt in an inverted dive and flipped and landed in a split second. I was stunned. No way that was possible in my mind.

I luckily saw this several times this Winter. Bald versus Golden. The Golden was dominant.
