I believe I saw one cross my driveway a few weeks ago. It was about 200 yards away and moved like a wolverine but I couldn't make positive identification at that range. So it was a definite 'maybe'.

I have seen wolverine up close before. Hiking solo in the Kern wilderness area of the Sierra back in the 60's I came around a large boulder and was face to face with a wolverine not 30' away. We were both startled and quickly went in opposite directions. Sleeping on the ground that night felt a little different than usual.

The wolverine that was heading north along the Oregon coast likely swam the Columbia and is exploring the Ocean Sores area now.

Sounds like a good thing that small predators are making a comeback. Let's hope we don't have a tragic human/ animal interface
