I love spiders! Here are three backyard species hanging inside, and outside, my parents' house. Some of you might have seen these photos elsewhere in the forum.

A female Golden Orb-weaver (Nephila sp.) chowing down on a Jade-green Cicada (Dundubia sp.).
Nephila exhibits extreme sexual size dimorphism, the males are up to 8 times smaller.

Hobo spiders suck. The upcoming cold weather will get them moving indoors (if they are not there already).

Ok it's that time of year, how are we killing them? I was awakened out of a dead sleep last night by a spider crawling across my back, it had enough 'heft' to it to wake me up... I am two things, arachniphobic and claustrophobic... After I came down off the roof I located it with a flashlight in the crack between the bed an wall inaccessible to the paper towel. So I had to fashion a 4am killing device, which ended up being a dowel with a paper towel rubber banded to the end. The culprit jumped on the dowel after dodging the first blow. I was then able to extract him and rush him to a watery grave, not before I got a picture for proof when the wife doubts my story in the AM. Not the biggest European house spider I've seen (almost hand sized streached out) but big enough. So what's the best way? Glue traps? Claymores? I don't want to use spray. Are there any pheromone attractant traps? I'm heading to the hardware store today and I'm not coming home without ample supplies to stop the blitzkrieg.

Witnessed tarantula migrations near white sands during a full moon... creepy as hell hairy carpet crossing the white sand of the desert.

Hate camel spiders... Dangerous and an absolute nuisance...

Worst I've ever seen was the South American Red Tarantula in the central American jungles.. up to two feet across, fearless and hunt birds , mice, even small iguanas..
