Non-fishing question

I know there are a bunch of surfers here from some of the 'other hobby' posts which makes sense as fishing feels like part of being a waterman.

Any of y'all surfed Pavones? I spend a couple weeks up north in Guanacaste in February every year based at Playa Grande with short trips to the normal spots around there. However, I've had my eye on that amazingly long left at Pavones for a while (I'm goofy foot). I open up the Surfline webcam almost every day at lunch... We're always there in the dry season when waves are smaller and I'm wondering if it'd be worth the 8hr+ drive down there when it's 3-4' instead of bigger wet season swells.

TIA!

The Surfline cam tells the tale. If it looks like it’s connecting down the point, its worth going. On a 4-6’ day it can be great. Watch for a predicted swell, book a room, then head down to surf the whole thing. You won’t regret it.
