Going through the closet the other day and found a Sage prototype rod I was given to test before it went into production. If my memory serves me correctly it was sold as an 890-4 RP so it is dated but a real cannon 8 weight which could probably handle a 9. The rod needs to be stripped as there is corrosion under the thread wraps due to inexpensive hardware and disuse. Reel seat and cork are fully functional but not fancy. If anyone wants a very adequate 8 weight for the price of new guides, thread, finish and a few hours of puttering let me know. Does not have a case or rod sock right now but I may be able to find a sock. It's an ideal project for someone getting into wrapping rods, can use an 8 weight and wants to get into the game without a substantial investment. The rod has caught a lot of bonefish.
