Looking for fall fishing/camping trip

Not having fished Idaho much (one June trip on the NF Coeur d'Alene), I'm looking to explore another river. I'm leaning toward the St. Joe or NF Clearwater. I plan on tent campingin at late-Sept to mid-October for 3-4 days. Would be interested in opinions of those with experience on these rivers and camping along them.

The Joe is great, lots of good spots to camp once you get upstream of Avery. Last time I was there in October, it didn't fish quite as well as it does earlier in the year but still pretty good. It's a special place and won't disappoint. I haven't fished the NFC so no input there.
