Kona Hawaii Sportfishing Charters?

Taking the family to Kona in three weeks for Spring Break. Thinking it would be fun to book a charter for a day to chase after whatever is in season. Marlin? Dorado? I don't have any preferences other than family fun, which means enough action to keep some from getting bored. Kids these days...

Would appreciate any suggestions for charter outfits or other recommendations. Thanks!

FYI- Costco in Kona has discount certificates for Umeke’s seafood and for one of the local sportfishing companies.
Similar to what they have in Seattle for some restaurants and tourist activities.

It is Ono season right now. Kona has stripped and small blue marlin around. Spearfish are in good numbers now as well. Some ahi in porpoise schools. Mahi are pretty scarce but like the buoys.
If you want to fly fish then Russ Nitta is great and has a reasonable rate of $700 for the day and will take up to 6 on his 35 foot force the Lepika. You should contact him and see what days he has.
If you want to run teasers and focus on a bill fish on fly then call Kevin Nakamaru on Northern lights. He is more for the day but does a great job and is the man Jake Jordan uses for his marlin fly fishing school.
There are many other captains in kona. Who ever you book with discuss keeping the table fish if you want to take some home. Good luck.
