For anyone looking for a good looking, nice fishing modern bamboo at an affordable price, I'd recommend checking out a for sale listing on the Classic Rod Forum for a Jeff Pope rod. He does very nice work. He was the one who made the ferruled blank I used to build out my favorite fishing rod, the Payne 201 clone I had at the casting gathering last summer. Ron

Can concur....Pope does/did? some nice work. I kinda wish I'd held onto mine (sold it ~15 years ago to fund other things as it wasn't getting used much). I don't recall the clone it was....possibly a 201, sounds familiar. Super sweet dry fly rod. Even caught my largest ever Deschutes Redside on it waaaay back. That's a killer deal over there!

I remember Jeff from way back when he was sort of working with Mark Ruhe in Spokane. He was using Mark's blanks for his rods and he had a few for sale at the old Avid Angler when Tom Darling was running it near Northgate. They were nice rods.
