I have sleep apnea and require a machine nightly. I bought a travel machine, cigarette plug adapter, and a battery pack with a cigarette outlet. The CPAP setup I have can get me 5 full night's of sleep (~35 hours) plus 5 days of cell phone charging with one battery pack and it comes in at about 5.5 pounds. The battery is the heavy part of that setup. All in, it was ~$700 out of pocket for the setup. Insurance doesn't cover a 2nd machine...

You might also look into the custom fitted mouth guards. They've proven effective for some patients and would be significantly lighter/smaller and of course no worry about power.
I use the Z2 auto mini CPAP and the lightest nasal pillow mask I could find, the airfit p10.
That's the battery unit I have. I bought a 12v adapter made by my CPAP manufacturer to connect them.

I have a slip on bug net from hammock gear. It has a stuff sack made out of bug netting. It happens to be the perfect size to put my CPAP and battery in. I then hang that from the hammock hardware on the head end. This put it about a foot above my head.

i have a mesh hammock organizer on my structural Ridgeline that I stuff the mask and hose in until I'm ready to use it.

I wish I could do the mouth guard. I asked about it and the doctor told me no. My problem is caused by my accident and nerve damage. I just stop breathing when I sleep.

I still want to do the Airsense Mini with all the accessories. Have a customer I deliver to who is a main rep for Resmed. She sounds like she'll hook me up when I want to go that route.

My insurance luckily will buy me a new CPAP the moment mine malfunctions. My Resmed 9 the humidifier died. They bought me the 10 and was told to toss my 9. I disconnected the humidifier, bought the adapter hose (non heated) that plugs into main unit, and just use that 12V adapter plug for the machine. Add the deep

I'm not due for another CPAP machine thru insurance for another year. The current one I use has been on a recall list since last May and could take up to a year to get replaced. I know that have these rechargeable battery packs that can output enough power for running a CPAP. I think my best bet would be to look into getting something like that. Should I use it, it would be only for a couple days at most or something like an overnite hike. I wasn't planning on doing anything overly strenuous like multi day hikes. My only concern was that my present CPAP machine might be too bulky for hiking and I was hoping to avoid having to buy another machine for only a short amount of use for hiking. My insurance only covers one machine every 5 years..

One of the things I like about hammock camping is that you can put them up in places that you can’t or wouldn’t want to set up a tent. I love to read in mine so during the day, I often remove my tarp and/or other accessories (or put in a snakeskin) or when setting up, add them in the evening of the first day (if it’s not going to rain).

Here are a few of my favorite’hangs’:

@Mumbles and I found this great spot in UT on a plateau above the Green River. You could see for miles!

Here’s one of my favorite setups for car camping, especially in buggy places. I love the netting sewn into the tarp and the bug-free room it creates.

(The extra quilt thrown over the ridgeline creates a cocoon of warmth and blocks the W. I still use a TQ and can add the extra one as an extra UQ if needed.)

You don’t always need two trees:

(This is the ultralight mini hammock that I used in the car and just moved outside for some sunshine.)

And last but not least, I sometimes carry a little ultralight “lounging” hammock and Kevlar tree straps when I am fishing. It’s much more comfortable at nap time than laying on the rocks like @Old Man and @Leland Miyawaki have been known to do!

Looks like I'm far from being alone with this CPAP issue. My sleep pattern is quite high, I believe the doctor told me I registered at about 70 per hour. I'm not due for another new CPAP machine for about another year thru my insurance. My insurance covers me for a new CPAP every 5 years. My current CPAP has been on the recall list since last May but could take about a year before it gets replaced. I looked at the Airsense Mini that you mentioned and they seem quite small. Are the built to be used for daily use or only as a travel CPAP machine..?

Went on a 2 night trip end of June last year. We ran into WAY more snow than anticipated and didn't make our night 1 destination. Ended up making camp on about 4 foot of snow on the Ridgeline before dropping into the lakes the next morning.

I have 120 occurrences an hour. I'm on the severe side.

I'm not sure if the mini could be used daily. I think it probably can. I just know my insurance won't pay for that model since it's considered a travel CPAP.

I figured for that size, it would be iffy for daily use. I think that my insurance would view it the same way as being for travel and not for everyday use. My CPAP isn't that bad as I can travel with it as long as I have a means of power. My main issue was it being somewhat bulky for putting in a backpack.

120 that is severe and I thought I was bad at 70..

What the make of your trap netting and where did you buy it at..? I've seen them enclose over the hammock but not like a tent like this..
This tarp is not normally sold as a hammock tarp, but it works for car camping, raft trips, kayak/canoe camping, etc. It is like a portable scree house that can be set up with poles or suspended from trees. It is the Nemo Bugout. This one is 9’x9’ but it comes in a larger sise, 12’x12’, I think.

Wow, they're quite expensive at $150 to $299 but nice for when the bugs are out to make sleeping easier..!! I found one here for $65 at "https://www.onewindoutdoors.com/products/tarp-bugnet" but that's only for the netting and doesn't include the tarp which would be extra..

Nice! I got mine for $50 on CL. It was used once by a young couple who got a Sprinter van instead. Their van conversion wasn’t quite complete and I wanted to tell them to just keep the tarp as it would come in handy in lots of ways… but I didn’t, lol.

My Resmed 9, without humidifier, is almost same size as the travel model. I've been using that exclusively as my travel. I keep the 110 plug in carry case if I have shore power. I'll use the 12V plug if I'm running off battery. Which I have a car plug adapter that attaches to my RV battery.

Reminds me. I found a brand new Kelty Noah's tarp for $25 on OfferUp. Was able to delete my prodeal, since I would've paid $50 for it and it was on back order.

I've purposely stayed away from those forums. I may upgrade mine, or buy a similar one, since my wife likes it.
Oh, don’t go over there unless you also want bins and bins of hammock stuff. Next thing you know, you will be buying CDT’s (Costco Down Throws) and dragging out your sewing machine! Don’t even ask me about the time that it was just me, a CDT and a bag of loose down and a gram scale naked in the shower! 🤣

I have enough military woobies to last me, but including the civilian ones I bought.

Yeah I'm trying to stay away from them since I'm so much like you. I'll wait for your garage sale. Who am I kidding. You'll probably only have one oar stop and a strap out of your garage, then put both back in case you need them later. 😉
