Before my move from Salt Lake to the Tri Cities later this week, my fishing buddy and I took one final trip to southern Utah over Easter weekend. It ended up being two of the most fun days fishing I've ever had...
Day 1 (4/16/22) - Lake 1:
Fishing was good right off the bat. Rainbows were readily taking leeches in all colors and we got two dozen or so to net before lunch. The shoreline was filled with folks spin fishing and bait fishing, but we were about the only ones within view that were catching anything
Day 1 - Extracurriculars:
When the sun came out fishing slowed down a bit. We explored the National Forest outside of Bryce Canyon NP; took in the scenery, spotted some pronghorn, and rode mountain bikes.
Day 2 (4/17/22) - Lake 2:
Lake 1 started off slow on Day 2 and the weather wasn't altogether too great. We went elsewhere and found warm weather, sunshine, a near empty lake, and much bigger 'bows than the day before. Chironomids hanging about three feet below an indicator was the key for the second day.
