Thought I would give some thoughts on what's going on with Columbia Basin Bass! Coming off a few days of fishing. I'll post pictures at the end
Small water: Post spawn conditions. Weed growth is starting to be a factor. Topwater still working well even in sun but will change to a morning/evening bite soon. Mosquitoes and ticks are out! So if you are hiking into your favorite little pond be prepared with bug spray.
Mid size ponds: Still some active spawning going on. Some great conditions and all day bites with lower temperatures this week. Best to throw right to the cover as they may be on a shallow bed. Sight fishing may be an option.
Large lakes: Hit Moses today with a friend for a few hours and it was fire. Lot's of active bass. Lot's of bass seen shallow. Lot's of smallmouth beds still visible with a few beds still occupied. I fished topwater and the bite showed zero signs of slowing down even in the noon hour. Targeted rocky shorelines and flats with cattails.
Pictures: Get after them!
