Me and my fishing buddy final got down to Ascension Bay for our first flats trip. We fished with casa viejo chac.
Day one we chased bonefish and caught a couple in this size range pretty fun on 7wts
Day two we headed to mangroves for baby tarpon. Was super fun technical casting to very shallow water I had numerous shots hooked two but lost both. My fishing buddy did better he landed two.
Day three we went ocean side and had lots of shots on permit and tarpon. Buddy got his first permit and got a tarpon right to the boat but when guide tried to grab it for hero shot it pop off we counted as landed and hope we could find him a bonefish for the grand slam but didn’t happen had the bone on the line but he lost it. 
I was able to hook another tarpon but broke me off. 
Got another shot and was finally able to land my first tarpon.
Up till this point we had the lodge to ourselves and on a pretty big high from landing our first flats fish. What we didn’t know was the lodge would be filled when we got back from fishing.
