Adding lettering to a rod

I'm looking to get a buddy a rod for his birthday, but not a really fancy one where a hand painted name or something would be part of the deal. Does anyone know a place to get that custom lettering added? Or even the decal route - do those hold up well enough?

Very easy to do. Any local rod builder should be able to do that for you. Try posting this in the "Rod Building" thread.

If you’re in Portland, you could try and reach out to Terry Turner in Gladstone. I bet you he would do it for $20-40. Don’t quote me on that though.

mudhole has decals that you can have custom made in different sizes and fonts. they work great. did my granddaughters rod with them.

Yeah, I ended up getting decals off MudHole and they arrived earlier this week. They look great.
