I think that's a white crappie. And I believe the crappie I usually catch, like this one a couple weeks ago on a frog gurgler, are black crappie.

That's the larges pumpkinseed I've ever seen

The biggest one I've caught for sure. Caught in Iowa early last summer. Fat one full of eggs!

That might be a rock bass.

I think he's right about it being a Green Sunfish. I did some reading and it sounds like the Green Sunfish is a willing breeder with other sunfish and even some types of bass.

Here is a Rock Bass caught out of a local western Washington lake.

Kids and bluegills are the best. It was my first fish. Red and white bobber and worm, with a Zebco rod and reel. At six years old I was confident that I had sport fishing completely figured out. Decades later I realize that I may have been correct.
