Not sure what they are, but I am sure the lake is full of them. Grabbed these two floating next to me this morning. What is your go to imitation?

Hi Tom-

I believe they are freshwater snails of family Planorbidae (Wheel Snails).

The one on the left looks much more oblong than the one on the right. It's also speckled, and the one on the right is not. I think they are different critters.

What I know now is they are part of the swimmers itch cycle I can only feel snails in a few of the fish, but I think some of the surface swirls are to snails, only I have not found a small similar looking flies very effective. Tried some of the peacock stuff and brown dubbed softhackle stuff we talked about in the past. I think the bottom is turning into a dead zone for fish so I haven't got any love down there either.
