Westslopes In Runoff

Fishing and finding wild cutthroat trout has quickly become one of my favorite things to do. Many many miles up a neighboring state tributary we were able to find some willing cutthroat. The conditions were tough with most spots being unwadeable but it was a great learning experience and good knowledge was gained for the future. Something about these fish and the places you find them.

Went back over my weekend, Monday-Tuesday. Insane how much the conditions have changed, you can fish anywhere you want. A lot of good sized fish on this trip and the best fishing I've experienced in my short time of fishing. I couldn't resist the streamer so I did pull it out in the late morning before the fish were actively surfacing. Can't get enough of native cutthroat and the places they reside.

Not sure on real size but he was the biggest cutthroat I've caught so far, not to mention the prettiest. Took me 4 minutes or so to land him which seemed like an eternity.
