I have been looking on and off at upgrading from our 1982 Clack high side (back when there was only one style). Curently I am back on the search again. I have been looking at a very well taken care of WF and am leaning towards that, but wanted to see people's thoughts on the WF vs the LP. My main concern is wind. We use it double duty as a lake fishing boat and rivers. It will be used to fish/float the Yakima, Sauk, Skykomish, and maybe Deschutes (my cousin just moved to Bend and seems like a good excuse to hangout there more). Mainly fair weather, we are not into steelhead or winter fishing. I just find floating relaxing as well. Trying to weigh my positives and negatives on them. Seems like a toss-up really.
WF:
WF:
- The WF offers a bit more side protection and might keep my dog in better - Positive
- Great condition, and well taken care of - Positive
- Inside of my price range - positive
- Painted trailer - Possible negative in PNW
- Better in the wind - Positive
- The LP would be easier for getting in and out of - Positive
- Galvanized Trailer - Positive
- Former guide boat (more wear) - Negative
- $1000 more than my price range (its flexible, but would like to spend less if possible, wouldn't we all) - Negative
