awesome fish!I don't normally post fish porn, but (for me) this was an extraordinary catch. It is the biggest largemouth I ever took on a fly rod. The fish measured about 23 " and based on length/weight ratios it went just under 6lbs. I caught it in a local lake here in NH using a floating minnow with iridescent sides. I was using my 5 wt and it took about 10 min to get it to net

Still hoping for the SBS on these awesome poppers!
Really? Why?I don't like this forum topic. Most guys would rather tell you where to fish than what what they are using successfully. But for those who have, much appreciated.
That is fantastic looking meat for a trout from a lake...I hope folks won't be offended at: 1) my lousy filet job, and/or 2) death of a couple trout, and 3) crude fly pattern (fished on a full sinking line)

Thesankers and I met up yesterday and fished Lake Roosevelt. Hot spotting, oh my! The water was 40F, ice in the launch bay but none on the river. I harvested two trout, 18" and 18.5" (as measured by a Spokane Tribal fish checker). The filets are dry brining right now, I'll wash them, and air dry them in the fridge tonight and smoke 'em tomorrow morning. No, they aren't hard to keep lit.
I really enjoy this forum topic; I have picked up some great tips on patterns and fishing styles. I tend to get into a rut - some of the patterns shown here have become go to flies for me.I don't like this forum topic. How quick do you lose those pheasant tail legs? I feel you would lose them so quick with sunfish teeth and the amount you catchSunfish have been liking this one.

I buy sections of PT all knotted like that, and tie on a small bunch like 6-8 so I can lose a few. They are tougher than they look! I have leggy muddlers that kept all their legs through many fish. Trout, though, without so much teeth. I guess I'll find out!How quick do you lose those pheasant tail legs? I feel you would lose them so quick with sunfish teeth and the amount you catch
What?? Where?I buy sections of PT all knotted like that
Proprietary interests so no one knows what record Coho hit. I'd tell you where I fished last week before what special pattern to use next to me. Do you not see the similarity with telling name of river or lake? Buggers or midges are good enough info for a flyfisher.Really? Why?
I can't imagine why you wouldn't answer "what are you using", unless you just want to be a jerk
There's just something FILTHY about this pic. A shag carpet backdrop, to highlight a giant popper, seductively posing on a fly rod, spooning with the tarted up gunnel of a glitter boat. Way past PG-13.
Ah, you're a competitive fisher.Proprietary interests so no one knows what record Coho hit. I'd tell you where I fished last week before what special pattern to use next to me. Do you not see the similarity with telling name of river or lake? Buggers or midges are good enough info for a flyfisher.
