They are from Leon...Can somebody tell me what Coq de Leon is? Might be the only thing I don’t have
Want to tie some Perdigons
What is a good substitute if any?
Thanks in advance

That pair at 2 o'clock look absolutely lethal.
Fun to see your flies in action Scott. That fly looks a lot like one I copied last fall and had good luck with.East Slope Muddler
hook - WFC Model 6 #6
thread - SemperFli 8/0 brown
tag - #14 tinsel gold
rib - small wire gold
body - Ice Dub pheasant tail
hackle - brown
1st shoulder - golden pheasant body feather red
2nd shoulder - golden pheasant body feather red
3rd shoulder - pheasant rump
collar/head - deer hair
Heavier dressed version of one I had some luck with a few years ago
Regards,
Scott
Looks good! Sometimes with tricky material like this (looking at you, squirrel tail) I take a thread loop around the material only and pull that loop down onto the hook with the next thread wrap.I struggled with calf body hair all weekend. I think aspects of the material and technique in this fly probably require more advanced skills than I have.

That’s a solid idea. I’m going to come back to that pattern in a week a or two. I’ll give it a shot.Looks good! Sometimes with tricky material like this (looking at you, squirrel tail) I take a thread loop around the material only and pull that loop down onto the hook with the next thread wrap.
Bet’cha can find a technique that will help work with that material in here…I struggled with calf body hair all weekend. I think aspects of the material and technique in this fly probably require more advanced skills than I have.
