View attachment 108506This might be the easiest snook pattern to tie…Finn raccoon. Might also be a good streamer as a juvenile whitefish for trout
It is patterned after the Schminnow…Never fished for snook, but all white is great for a number of species. Nice tie. Very similar to a Schminnow pattern.

There are different species of partridge with differing plumage, but overall you are correct in your thoughts. The white is up front by the throat and gets darker brown to the back. There can be other shades, reds, and grays hidden in there as well. They all have their place.Little spider:

I have a soft-hackle question.
Is there a difference between a brown and a natural partridge skin? When a pattern calls for brown partridge is it simply calling for a brown feather from a natural skin?
Thanks for clarifying. There are different species of partridge with different plumage, but overall you are correct in your thoughts. The white is up front by the throat and gets darker brown to the back. There can be other shades, reds, and grays hidden in there as well.
