Number of fish on U.S. overfishing list reaches an all-time low
PORTLAND, Maine — The number of fish on the government’s overfishing list sunk to a new low last year in a sign of healthy U.S. fisheries, federal officials said.
Throw in the fact that the human population uses the world's oceans as the ultimate repository for a vast assortment of bioaccumulative toxics and other garbage....and it doesn't bode well for one of mankind's most significant food sources.
Don't know whether we're at the beginning, middle, or approaching the end of the anthropocene....but we've really shitted up our nest.
