I have a compound and a recurve bow now, received this as a Christmas gift it’s a St Charles recurve made of yew. This is a really nice bow and now I have the bug again any other archers here? It's the one thing I want to get back into. I had a Bear compound when I was a kid. I didn't stick to it. Gave my daughter one a few years ago. She likes it, but as I am not able to lead by example, she doesn't stick to it. Might need to start researching. I always thought the recurve was coolest.

When I first shot the bow I was amazed at how smooth it was, with in 8 arrows I was dialed in. I need to get some bow time in with it and get some hunting arrows and see if it will work.

Congrats on the addition @Denwor54; looks like a sweet shooter!

I can't draw a longbow anymore (bum shoulder), but still have 3 Joe Gross longbows (25#, 45# Kids' bows, 60# my fav) & a 70# Howard Hill Tembo plus an old 28# Bear Tamerlane recurve target bow that had forgotten about.

Sweet looking bow. All I own are recurves and a stout homemade longbow. Hopefully going to be chasing elk this fall for the first time in several.
I used to love going down the Northwest Archery and looking at the museum.

I have two Wing recurves for target shooting. I got my grandson a kid's size recurve bow (sold by Bear) for his 7th birthday this past fall. We have some fun shooting at a target I hang in the woodshed. I used to have a Red Wing Hunter but sold it over 20 years ago. Of course I wish I hadn't even though I don't expect to hunt again.

Wing made some great recurves! I always lusted after a Pearson Mercury Marauder take-down myself (ala Jim Dougherty, may he rest in peace). Unfortunately, back in those days I couldn't afford one.

Thanks Jim, it is a sweet shooter I can’t wait to see how it handles hunting arrows. I might have to get some judo points and get some fly tying materials this fall.

I started hunting with recurve but was never very proficient. Killed a bull soon after with a wheel bow.
I wish I hadn't sold my recurve, it was so much fun to shoot and minimal.
