27 C&R’d on the Stiks today….all sight casting midge emergers to rising rainbows! Nothing big but fun in 2’-4’ of water around Lilly pads….

I almost always use a chromie on top, tie another loop knot in the eye and hang a balanced leech or a micro leech 18” under. Sorta makes more sense having a chromie higher in the water column, let the weight of the leech keep things vertical. 90% of caught fish are on the bottom fly…..not sure...

Out of the six I’ve made so far…..the black bamboo was in a yard next to a lake in Federal Way, the others from brush piles in my neighborhood. You can use any…..

I switched lines today…..dry line/indicator on II and the type III on #1. 43 between the two from 12:00-6:30. Tom not so lucky……

You wouldn’t believe how well these funky crooked stiks cast! I used a type III sink and can cast 40’-50’ easily! Even less effort with a 5wt Cortland Sylk dry line. The best thing about fishing these stiks are the looks I get at the boat launch! And you’re so right about not needing rods that...

On a real local lake today…I fished both Stiks….devirginized II with 43 on a wet line and 5 on the other with a “new” style indicator! Nothing big but fun! I fished from 2:00-7:00.

Ugly Stik II might even be a better casting stik than #1……I lawn cast it this morning, I guess for real results I’ll have to try several different lines….but I really don’t care that much, all I want is to cast as far as the fish are! Which for me isn’t much past 40’ in lakes. I wonder if I...

Once a month??? Another “thing” wanting to turn into “Ugly Stik II” hmmmmmmmm? Crappy weather for awhile.
