I have 2 6s, a 7 and an 8 along with the rest of my gear loaded in the car right now. Can't wait for Friday! Normally just 2 6s and an 8, but I added a 7 to the quiver last year and think it will be my main rod this season.
I spent a week with Jeff deBrown a few years ago. He certainly knows that fishery and will take good care of you. He lives in Los Barriles
The Reel Baja
Thanks.
Yes, that is a medium sized bluefin. The biggest I caught on the flats. Easy to catch bigger ones trolling flies while motoring from one flat to the next.
Bring really heavy shrimp patterns to get down fast to the 3 - 5 foot deep rocks along the beach between waves. I caught various goatfish, peacock groupers (lamest fight ever) and even a bonefish blind casting to this type of structure along several different beaches. The beach pic below shows...
sorry, i meant after you glued them together, how did you attach it to the hook. I don't see any tie ins near the bend of the hook yet the braid looks attached the entire length of the shank
I will certainly be copying that!
The strips look attached to the hook shank. Did you tie in at the head and glue the braid to the hook shank or are the just tied in at the head and are behaving nicely for the pic?
