    Non-Fly 2024 Dirt bag Lingcod

Not on the sound but tomorrow is the Hali opener down here in area 2 and I plan to tangle with some dinosaurs as well. So very much looking forward to getting back out on the ocean. I did receive a couple reports from friends today on the sound. Didn't take either of them long to get their...

    What's in your vise?

I experimented with circle hooks quite a bit years back when I was spending a fair amount of time chasing lings on the sound, but eventually moved away from them. Just couldn't not set the hook lol. Once they grab they don't often come unbuttoned, but at least for me its just so friggen tough...

    What's in your vise?

Cool fly! I can definitely see a ling smashing that thing. Hope you can remember to not set the hook:)

How are you storing/organizing your (flat) materials?

For materials/colors I use often I've got pegboard and hooks above my desk. For stuff I use less often I just use cheap plastic drawers

    Bad outing for FlyFish Dan

Didn't watch the video, but I know he sells his own line of rods so on the surface I'd guess it was one of those.

    Eels

Not that I've ever seen or heard of. Off the top of my head, at least for the bait fishing I am familiar with, I can't think of a situation where I'd really feel like trying it.

    Eels

There's a slime eel fishery off our coast as well. Those things gross me out.

    Little Update

Im installing a walk through egg detector at the top of the ramp down to the docks. Similar to a metal detector at the airport it will insure no God forsaken pickled eggs make it anywhere close to me down there

    Little Update

Happy update.... After what turned into quite the saga, and easily the longest year plus of my life, I am finally officially back in the saddle. I can't possibly explain just how good I feel both physically and now mentally as well. Many thanks to everyone here who provided me so much...

NFR Places to eat after (or before) fishing

My family has always enjoyed it. Its been a fair while since I've eaten there since I can't really eat a lot of what they serve anymore, but their El Cubano sandwich with a blackberry shake was always a favorite of mine

NFR Places to eat after (or before) fishing

Grub Hub in Kingston serves some pretty good burgers if you're headed back across the ferry after fishing the KP

Second fishing trip in my new truck

Yeah I've owned mine for going on 4 years now and it's been incredible. Only put about 20k miles on it as I don't drive a ton. I had decided I wanted a 7.3 and was specifically shopping for this truck, and I was blown away at what they were going for. Halfway decent 99-02 models were...

Second fishing trip in my new truck

That's kinda how I feel about them. They don't necessarily appeal to me a whole lot, but I still find the general concept cool as hell and would love to check one out. Ultimately I don't give two shits what a vehicle looks like if it does what I need it to do, so I'm definitely not against...

Second fishing trip in my new truck

My 99 F250 with 7.3 is the best vehicle I've ever owned. She's not shiny and new, but at 192k is barely broken in, and as you mentioned, will pull anything I ever need to pull as well as stuff I'd never need to pull. Absolutely love that truck
