As fall rapidly approaches, I start pulling out my crane fly patterns. Favorite is still the Quigley pattern.
Here's one that was sitting on my glass door this morning.
Thanks for the comments! That photo is from 2018 or 2017. I have about 1200 photos, including that one, in an iPad that malfunctioned. I haven't figured out how to recover them. Last spring the frog resurfaced in a Facebook “Memories from 5 years ago” prompt and I recovered the pic thru a screenshot. Thus, the header.
I have been enjoying this thread. Took me a couple days to get through it all. Amazing places you all enjoy and the sites you get to see. I feel truly blessed to be near some wildlife too.
I rarely post any wildlife in my back yard given that i live in the heart of Vancouver, 20 blocks from the Interstate bridge to Oregon. My oldest daughter however sends pics to me of here backyard 6 1/2 acres at 8600’ in Conifer CO. She said they have a cricket explosion and foxes and such come to snack on them
This was a few months ago. This guy decided meat bird food is pretty delicious and laughed at our electric fence as he hopped over it effortlessly. Then he looked over the progress on my chicken coop build with his partner in crime.
We caught this garter snake coming out of the river, it had some kind of sculpin in its mouth. We found the fish on the bank later, I don’t think it could get it down with all the spines on the fish.
