When can I start bass fishing on the west side?

From an android phone
Chris. I had the same problem.
I clicked on the picture in my gallery, then to the edit photo where you can resize or spin or add color etc.
I slightly edited the photo to show the target of the photo and saved it.
I then was able to upload saved edition right from my android phone to the thread here and it came out upright.

I believe it. I saw a guy a couple of years ago fishing a trout-sized swimbait for bedding bass. Didn't see him catch anything, but he also didn't feel it necessary to try anything else.
Early season (late Feb to early March) on W Washington lakes with lots of stocker trout I've fished a 10" Rainbow Trout swimbait with a 1oz jighead. Big eye on it, pretty realistic. I've hooked some pigs slow rolling it along the first major dropoff, usually at 18 - 20'. I say hooked as my landing percentage has been pretty poor.

May have to tie some really big but light flies for this. Thinking some down sized musky ties
The trick is getting something realistic enough to fish slowly.. some of the swimsuits are ultra realistic both in looks and in swimming motion

Just one more cast...
My first post on the new site since moving over. I haven't even fixed my profile picture yet. I love bass fishing, for various reasons, but being able to find them all around is one. For me last year things really picked up in April and just got better from there.

Thanks, Josh fixed something and I went back and uploaded the pic again and it's upright.

For west side shallow bass lakes, April is the earliest I’d give it a serious try. Terrell has some hogs getting caught in April pre-spawn. If you want winter fishing on Terrell, go for the catfish.

How does one tie a fly that looks like a ball of corn and flour?

I’ve found that I need at least a 700 grain Skagit head to cast a chunk of chicken liver.

How about some gear recommendations. 6-8-10?? I realize there are a lot of variables but for a newbie is there a general rec?

My $.02 then I'll shut because I'm learning by lurking....😜

West side bass, don't overlook the lake at Millersylvania State Park south of Oly. Was there a year ago on early June for panfish and couldnt keep the bass off the line.

That is a pretty cool place
Haven’t been there in ages but I went there often and it was always fun
