Very nice! Is that peacock breast feather in the tail?View attachment 139215
Quick tie tonight on an AJ 1.5 Heavy wire hook for dry line fishing. Hopefully everyone is enjoying this sunshine.
Thank you, it certainly is. I stripped one side for some other flies and saved the stripped half and used it. I love peacock.Very nice! Is that peacock breast feather in the tail?
Yup. My grandparents owned a mortuary. I use to visit them when I was a kid. The cold chap stick was preferred by all!Cold Room Tying Wax:
The room where I tie is over my garage. It is heated, but is at the far end of the vents of the HVAC. It often gets fairly cold in the room as I live in NH and winters are still cold, but not as cold as even 20 years ago. I don't often use wax, but for some material it is difficult to lay on dubbing without it. Normal tie wax does not work well in the cold, so I use ChapStick. It stays flexible and is sticky enough to get the job done

They are called bug collars. I bought them years ago, but I think that Firehole sells them now. They are brass- a little weight and a hotspot. What are the brightly completed flattish rings?
Buggy, jiggy, moppy, crawdaddy type of things...one for anadromous and one not...

yeah, but I'm trying to piss off the purists a little less than normal...Um, I can see them both working interchangeably. The one on the right has summer run potential.
I'm likin' the one on the right. Thinkin' about throwing crawdad stuff a lot more this year. Mind sharing the recipe?Buggy, jiggy, moppy, crawdaddy type of things...one for anadromous and one not...
