Show Us Your Humpies !!!

Would this be fished on a floating or intermediate line?
My guess mono rig would be ideal! That’s messed up right there.

I'm not a YouTuber. At least not a good one. I just like having fun with it.
Here's the first fish last night from hookup to landing with my little annoying friend about a minute into it. 😁
I have the full waterproof cover on it and it's an old Hero 3 (that I found on the trail) so you really can't hear my commentary. Especially over the soothing sounds of the concrete plant. :ROFLMAO:

Sky, I get a kick with the boat ride upstream you got around 1.33-1.37, plus the concrete plants come into view...

There were a lot of pretty stale pinks up above the South Park bridge yesterday. Also a lot of crusty chinook and a surprising number of chrome bright lockjawed coho. I got half a dozen in about an hour, then broke a rod by being a dumbass, which really slowed things down.

Note that nets go in on Sunday, probably on the usual Sunday noon thru Friday noon schedule. Get out there while you can!
Just called the MIT nets hotline and it said it opens for gillnets on 9/7

Right hand caster, right hand retrieve. I counted nine rod transfers and no lost fish, well done! ;-)

Haha! Thanks. 9 times is about 8 more than usual. 😁
I'm usually a right-handed netter, but I screwed up the ergonomic plan last night big-time. I had the GoPro on the right side...experimenting with it attached to the Scotty mount. And the darn cooler ended up leaning to the right as well. Yes, the old 36qt Igloo fits back there! You gotta put em on ice right away! :ROFLMAO:

Had a fun morning on the River. Some fish are starting to color up and hump out. Also still some bright ones around. We had a couple double hookups and one double net job on large humped up male fish. Phil’s was larger. We fished about three hours and were pretty satiated, but it was still hard to leave. I might go back with a kid or two later today.

I apparently didn't go far enough up river. Down low they were total lockjaw 🥲

Matt probably has a better pulse on it than me, but it seems like they are heading upriver now. I bet the clouds and just the tiny bit of rain has them on the move. Some years they just seem to spread out more. I always wonder if the clouds are a factor.

I heard a pretty recent report that the fish are not in super thick above Tukwila yet.
I think there’s a bunch of fish that have been staging and are stale, but fresh ones are coming in too, and we are at the point where we are searching for players. They are there, but you have to find the right sort of schools. Not all the fish jumping and splashing are biters. The larger schools of fish on the move seem to be the ones where there is a better chance of putting a fly in front of a grabby fish.
It can pay off to chase and intercept schools.
And if you see a school where there are fish finning like they are taking emergers, go over to them and cast to them. Those are usually biters.

Going to take my daughter and her boyfriend out in our boat Monday, and will meet them down south. Any scouting reports or suggestions? Thinking about launching at Olalla or Pt Defiance.

Had a great day at Golden Gardens Friday! Lots of pinks jumping.
