A couple lifepo4 battery questions...

With a 100 ah battery you may want something with more than 8 amps charging to take advantage of the quick charge capability of the LiFePo4.

That's a good point. Most charges would be overnight and once back from a trip so a quick charge is not a big factor for me. But, Always good to have the horsepower when/if needed.

I actually ended up going witha 40lb Newport that I found on sale. For the smaller raft it's going on, 40lb will be more than enough.

Cheaper yet. I have an older NOCO 2 station charger for our sailboat and its two lead acid batteries. It uses a standard deep cycle battery as the main and a 35ah U1 I use for a secondary and/or trolling motor for the dingy. I love the setup I put together for that, and the NOCO brand. I just need to find a U1 type LiPo battery now. (I'd welcome a shout out if any knows of any under $200)

I ended up getting the NOCO Genius 10. A 20amp charger would probably charge quicker but most of the 20 Chargers see to really on put out about 15 amps max. So, not that much of an improvement. The NOCO should charge the 100ah in about 10 hours from 0% and it's probably rare it would ever get down to 0% charge. If I can fully charge overnight, that's more than enough for me. And the NOCO seems to be a good quality charger. Plus, I've always got a deep cycle marine battery as a backup just in case. Granted it might sink the raft but that's what life jackets are for! :ROFLMAO:

Nermak has a 30ah that is U1 size: https://smile.amazon.com/Lithium-Li...Free/dp/B09H3BMYP8?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1
I have Miady 35ah that has been great; don't seem to make it any more however.
